What is Data Security?
Data Security refers to the process of carrying out all steps intended for protecting digital information from unauthorized parties being accessed, altered, or deleted in any way at rest (or stored) and throughout its journey end-to-end cycle including creation to deletion.
It is a combination of standards and technology developed to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Data security may be implemented with many different techniques and technologies, including administrative controls, physical security, logical controls, and organizational standards within the context of IT infrastructure protecting data during its entire lifecycle. To secure data, one must restrict unauthorized persons' access to it.
