Data Security

What is Data Security?

Data Security refers to the process of carrying out all steps intended for protecting digital information from unauthorized parties being accessed, altered, or deleted in any way at rest (or stored) and throughout its journey end-to-end cycle including creation till deletion.
It is a combination of standards and technology developed to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data. Data security may be implemented with many different techniques and technologies that include administrative controls, physical security, logical controls, organizational standards within the context of IT infrastructure protecting data during its entire lifecycle. To secure data, one must restrict unauthorized persons' access to it.
